Six Noble Bordeaux Wines Reunited - Connoisseurs Celebrate First Holiday Boxed Set of Bordeaux Varietals from California

California’s Mendocino County, Yorkville Highlands (PRWEB) December 1, 2009 -- Wine connoisseurs and geeks are celebrating. It is believed that for the first time ever, all six of the noble red varietals originating in the Bordeaux region of France have come together. Bottles of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Merlot are now all included in one custom-made wood case, available from Yorkville Cellars of Mendocino County. Instantly, the search for the perfect special holiday gift is as easy a click or a friendly phone call away.

“To be honest, when we planted these varietals in 1990, we had never tasted a couple of them,” said Edward Wallo, Founder & WineGrower along with his wife, Deborah, of Yorkville Cellars. “As far as we have been able to determine, Yorkville is the only vineyard where all six of these classic grapes are grown side by side and bottled as individual varietal wines. This allows one to compare the unique qualities of each varietal while not being influenced by different growing conditions, regions, or wine-making techniques.”

All varietals were grown on Yorkville Cellar’s certified organic Rennie Vineyard in Southern Mendocino County (Yorkville Highlands AVA) and are from the 2006 vintage. $200 per boxed set; very limited availability.
